Mochi Tsuki Festival
The Bainbridge Island Japanese American Community (BIJAC) is looking for volunteers to help at our Mochi Tsuki celebration on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Woodward Middle School. We need help with set-up, rice washing, mochi forming, origami instruction, merchandise sales, beverage service, clean-up, etc….
Set-up will be Friday, January 9, 4-7pm and Saturday January 10, 8-11. The event is Saturday 11-3pm. If you are interested sign up with the links below.

Our main project for December will be a food drive to support Helpline House. Here's how it will work:
Saturday, December 6th from 10-4 we will have 3 shifts of 2 hours each for volunteers to be at Safeway asking for donations.
Around 4pm, we will transport the food into a car and bring it to Helpline House. Those who have signed up to volunteer during the 2-4 shift will help with that.
Sign up for a time slot or two and help us beat our record from last year: 1078 items for 1250 pounds!
